El Marinero - Punta Umbría

On a recommendation from friends who have a house in Punta, we got a table outside and had dinner here on a busy Friday night in May and we’re not disappointed. The gambas al ajillo were my favorite, but all the fried fish we ordered was delicious (as well as the meat we ordered to finish the meal though their specialty is obviously the fish and seafood). The waiters were also attentive and quick. I imagine in high season this place gets packed so make a reservation if you can!

Poor service, rude staff... enough said! better stay away, besides there is nothing to see or to do in town

We were recommended this restaurant by a local fruit and vegetable shop. We were glad to have used the recommendation. Food was simple but excellent. My son had merluza a la plancha, the merluza was fresh, nicely cooked and well presented. My wife and I shared a cazuela de marisco, which was delicious, but would not have sufficed for 2 normal eaters. We tend to eat little. Service was good , friendly and helpful.

Relación calidad precio descompensó. Gambas ricas, aunque a 25€ me parece excesivo. Pulpo al pimiento casero, también estaba bueno, con sabor a pimientos del piquillo. Croquetas de gambas: decepcionantes. La bechamel no tiene sabor y cuando llegas a la gamba (tiene la gamba entera) el sabor apenas se diferencia. En general no está mal, salvo las croquetas, aunque caro.

Tiene bastante fama y por eso decidimos ir, pero me decepcionó un poco. Pedimos bastantes raciones para probar, éramos 8 personas. Y todo estaba bueno, pero sin destacar nada. No hubo un plato que nos incitara a volver en algún momento. Los precios están algo altos para la cantidad de la ración. Eso si, buen servicio si tuvimos.
