Contribuiți la feedbackI've came here numerous times for drinks at night but stopped by for brunch for the first time the other day. It was honestly beyond my expectations. Pretty quiet atmosphere which is way different than night time and good menu and selection for brunch. For the price you pay, food is good.
They are under new ownership and it's changed a lot since I went to school here. Pretty dang good food! The service is still working out the kinks! Definitely coming back! Mimosas!!!! Pitcher of juice and whole bottle of champagne! Solid. One weird thing: **** Mary's didn't have ice.
I LOVED The Zzu. It was my favorite bar. They have amazing food and beer and drinks, and taco Tuesday is amazing. But once they turned it into an 18+ dance club is when I stopped going. I was going to go to their $7 Malibu Bucket night until I saw it was a dance party. They haven't done progressive well night, and they aren't doing it tonight because it's an 18+ dance party night. It was a great place, I don't know why they're turning it into Mikes:
I visited ZZU last Tuesday to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. They advertise closing at 2 AM, but when we arrived at midnight, the place was completely empty—not a single customer or staff member in sight. The doors were unlocked, and the TVs were still on, which was really odd. We checked the whole bar, but it seemed deserted. If they decided to close early, they should've put up a notice or at least locked the door.
We asked them to turn down the three loudly blaring TVs, requested menus, asked for water, and finally placed our order. We started with drinks, but the server forgot two coffees that were ordered by members of our party. I ordered a cranberry mimosa, which was quite unpleasant—sweet, flat champagne made it taste like overly sugary juice. After an hour and a half of being ignored, except when one of our group went to the bar, I had enough. We canceled our food orders and left. We went home and made our own brunch instead. I understand that things can go wrong and that leisurely Sunday brunches can be enjoyable, but I don’t want to spend my day off being ignored by staff in a dirty bar and not getting to eat. To their credit, the hostess/bar staff did apologize as we were leaving and mentioned that our server had actually left in the middle of our visit. I don't know what happened, but it seems Zzu is not equipped to handle brunch service. Stick to wings and tacos at night, because you're not living up to the standard you set for yourselves.
