Mexican Joe's restaurant

We were staying in the condos next door and we're disappointed to find out they are closed for the summer. My husband and I were lookingforward to dinner at Mexican Joes during our stay based on TripAdvisor reviews but we have many other options in the area. Maybe next visit!

This place is worth the walk. Tucked at the end of a street in Zona Romantica, it is in a quiet little neighborhood of condos and apartment buildings. Both of us agreed that the mango margarita was the best one we'd had on our trip. Each meal comes with black bean soup, blow torched nachos and guacamole, sopapillas, surprise dessert and coffee (with Kalua)Hector, the brother of the owner Emilio, was our server. The pricing is beyond fair for the quality, quantity of the food and the service. You will not be sorry you tried it.

Great food...great staff...great location. A warm and friendly atmosphere where we were made to feel at home and relaxed which allowed to enjoy a great meal with some friends.

We visited upon recommendations from a friend and we were NOT disappointed. Torch flamed tortilla chips, black bean soup, and sopellas with honey to start. All of them perfection. The soup might be the best I've ever tasted. Each of the seven people in our party had a different meal and each of us was completely impressed. No leftovers here. Surprise dessert and special coffee also included after your meal. Family style environment and just a really fun meal. Rooftop dining at the end of a quiet street. Would wholeheartedly recommend and can't wait to return!

We found this gem on one of our last evening in Puerto Vallarta. A little hard to get to, but well worth the effort to find. Our waiter, Hector, was friendly and personable. The food was excellent, and the extras (soup, nachos, surprise dessert, and coffee) were wonderful. I especially liked the dessert. You won't be sorry to take the extra time to find this gem!
