Contribuiți la feedbackIf you're a tourist in Palawan, you absolutely have to try the Chaolong noodles. There are several Chaolong houses in Puerto Princesa and the surrounding areas, including Thalias Chaolong. It's said that Palawan offers the authentic Vietnamese noodle experience with a local twist. This was my first time trying Chaolong, and it reminded me of pho while being very reasonably priced. The soup was delicious; I had the pork buto-buto, and the rice noodles were fantastic. If you enjoy noodle soup with a subtly sweet broth, this is the place for you. However, I found their French bread a bit underwhelming—just your average sandwich. The ambiance is typical of a carinderia, which lacks ventilation. Adding some extra lighting could make the space brighter and more inviting, potentially attracting more customers.
Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff—definitely worth dining here. Highly recommended! Thank you!
The customer service was lacking, the noodles were served lukewarm, and the cleanliness standards were not met.
If you're curious about why Vietnamese pho is referred to as chaolong, that's a story for another time. Just head over to Thalia's for a steaming hot bowl of chaolong. It's delicious! For Lasallians, there's also a portrait of St. John Baptiste de La Salle displayed here.
My favorite dish here is the Pork Buto-Buto. Their chaolong is quite tasty. The only difference between the regular chaolong and the special chaolong is that the special version comes with an egg. I recommend giving it a try! As for the location, it's close to SM.
