Casa Azul - Puerto Plata

I highly recommend Casa Azul Apartments. I have had the pleasure of enjoying the accommodations at Casa Azul twice. Both times were amazing! the apartment suites are very clean, well equipped and provide all the comforts of home. The building and property are wonderful, at a central location, close to everything (grocery stores, restaurants, cafe's, tourist excursions, the beautiful beaches and boardwalks and old towne Puerto Plata. Staying at Casa Azul you will feel safe, peaceful, and immersed in Dominican culture. The backyard patio is a wonderful shaded space to sit and enjoy a drink, read a book, play dominos or converse. And the root top terrace is the most incredible place to watch the sun rise and sun set, take in the 360 degree view of the ocean and mountain landscapes, sun bathe, play cards, and peacefully listen to the sounds of the city, laughter and music, and you can watch the people dancing up and down the street. The owner and host, Daniele, is truly amazing! So lovely and welcoming and able to help with any questions, directions, recommendations, airport transportation, etc. From the moment I arrived at Casa Azul I felt like I was being welcomed into a friends home. I have stayed in 2 of the apartments (2 separate trips to DR) and enjoyed both spaces and experiences. Daniele also gave me a tour of the other suites and rooms when they were not occupied and honestly I can say that I would be equally happy staying in any room or apartment that is available. All have air conditioning, private baths, bed linens, towels, TV's, etc. and the apartments have fully equipped kitchens and living spaces. This is a gem of a place. I highly highly recommend it! Also, I had a rental car but did a lot of walking around the area. I can say , as a single female, I did not once feel afraid or nervous. Everyone was very friendly, kind and patient with me (as I did not speak Spanish). The Dominican people are beautiful inside and out. Their smiles and spirits are captivating. I will continue to visit the country and stay at Casa Azul. I know I will have a wonderful and culturally rich vacation every time.

The room is very nice and comfortable! Apartment amazing! Location is very convenient, near shops and public transport. Safe neighborhood! Danièlle was very helpful and friendly, she’s a super host! I felt like home!

Excellente! I have stayed at Casa Azul 2 times in the last year. Both times were fantastic. Very friendly staff, very clean and safe. My girlfriend and I had a great time. We slept very well on the comfortable beds and enjoyed the air conditioning. We liked sitting on the patios playing cards dominoes and listening to music. And we loved the fruit trucks that passed by daily. and my girlfriend really loved the coffee percolator in the apartment. She said it makes the best coffee. We definitely recommend Casa Azul. Beautiful apartments, close to everything and right in the middle of Puerto Plata, central for everything and the true beauty of the Dominican and it's people and culture. Excelente! Me he alojado en Casa Azul 2 veces en el último año. Ambas veces fueron fantásticas. Personal muy amable, muy limpio y seguro. Mi novia y yo lo pasamos muy bien. Dormimos muy bien en las cómodas camas y disfrutamos del aire acondicionado. Nos gustaba sentarnos en los patios jugando a las cartas y al dominó y escuchar música. Y nos encantaron los camiones de frutas que pasaban a diario. y mi novia realmente amaba la cafe percolator en el apartamento. Ella dijo que hace el mejor café. Definitivamente recomendamos Casa Azul. Hermosos apartamentos, cerca de todo y justo en el medio de Puerto Plata, central para todo y la verdadera belleza de lo dominicano y su gente y cultura.

Shared balcony and roof terrace. Clean comfortable rooms with AC and fan and refrigerator at very affordable prices. And of course, the owner is very friendly and extremely helpful for all the information you need. One of my favorite stays on my trip
