LHASA, Auroville.
Vezi toate recenziile.
Shivering on a rainy winter afternoon, my partner and I set out on our quest for lunch in Auroville. The weather called for a hot bowl of soup and we tried to locate where we saw a Tibetan restaurant. Drenched in rain on our scooty,we finally noticed the board of Lhasa. As we went in we were given a warm welcome by the owner/waiter. Seeing us all wet, he thoughtfully offered us warm water to drink. We ordered momos and chicken and beef thukpa. The food was delightful. Decor was minimal with few colourful curtains and lights yet I loved that laid back ambiance of the place.
LHASA, auroville. Away from the narrow lanes of auroville is this very small resto... (Arnd 20 seater) dim lighted with soft music, perfect for those late evening conversations. What we ordered: 1.) veg chowmein : perfectly spiced up and gud quantity, with ample amt of veggies to balance it up. Arnd 120/- 2.) veg momo : a plate consists of ten soft momos thats pleasant to the taste buds, that we ordered an extra plate , again arnd 130/- 3.) Lemon iced tea : Perfect thirst quencher 40/- 4.) lemon soda : Replenisher for this scorchy heat 30/- Vfm 5/5 Ambience 5/5 Service 5/5 In toto : Yummy-tummy at lhasa ;) #being_panda #what_panda_does #jus_panda_things #wce
A quaint place off the road to auroville with a shck like ambience. The owner/waiter/cook is a genuine gentleman and a nice person to talk to.. everything is made fresh from scratch. Noodles and momos should be tried. We bumped into this to get away from the rain. I dont regret it :)
We just tasted momos over there. I wouldn't go as far as saying that those were the best momos that I have ever had but they were good. Yes, cleanliness was an issue but that's about it. Go with and open mind and try the momos and iced tea. This will vary from people to people, you know. So, just give it a try!
Okay.. so this place is a home made restro. Open ambiance. Self decorated by the owners. Owner/chef/waiter... all in one. Don't expect anything great with regards to ambiance or service or cleanliness. But when you order food, they prepare everything from scratch from cutting of veg to boiling the noodles. Food was good and tasty. Tried chow mein and soupy noodles. Both were great and tasty. And momos were good too. Lemon soda was just ok ok. This is a good place to have Tibetan food.
