Mi Guatemala - Providence

I absolutely adore this restaurant! And I'm not just saying that because I'm Guatemalan. I am willing to travel nearly 2 hours just for the food. I have seen others come from far away as well, which speaks to the amazing food and hospitality. I took my parents here for their birthdays and it felt like home to them. I would definitely give this place a 5-star rating and I hope they open a location in Connecticut soon! Pleaseee!!!!

I visited Mi Guatemala for the first time and was not able to make a reservation in advance. I waited for 1 1/2 hours for two tables, but I had heard great things about the restaurant. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean, although the bathrooms were small. While the rice and beans were not impressive, I enjoyed my churrasco steak, soup, salad, and horchata drink. The handmade tortillas were also delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and family-friendly, with options on the menu for children such as mini churrasco and chicken nuggets. The paisano with steak and Polloguisado dishes were tasty as well. The menu had a lot of choices. I plan to return, but will try to avoid Saturday nights around 7pm. The service could be improved with better time management, as it took a long time to receive the check and to-go boxes, possibly due to understaffing. Parking was limited.

The service was excellent and the traditional Guatemalan food was delicious. This restaurant is a great representation of the warm Chapin spirit. Congratulations!
