Contribuiți la feedbackDespite the negative reviews of this restaurant, I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, it appeared to be a typical open layout with friendly staff and a clean atmosphere. I ordered a cup of coffee with almond milk, which unfortunately arrived cold, likely due to sitting out for a while. Despite this, I still decided to be adventurous and order some food. I opted for the vegan pancakes with vegan butter, which were decent, along with the tofu scramble served with home fries and toast. However, the tofu lacked flavor, only seasoned with turmeric and a few vegetables, and the home fries were overcooked and poorly prepared. What was most disappointing was that all the food was cooked on the same grill as meat, eggs, and cheese, despite being advertised as vegan. While I do not have any food allergies, I believe that if a restaurant is promoting vegan options, they should ensure that the food is truly vegan and not contaminated with animal products. Overall, I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
I would not advise dismissing this restaurant just because they are vegan! I have been vegan for 15 years and have been going to Louis for almost as long. I would recommend the tofu scramble with dry Italian toast, French fries or soup on the side, and houseberries. Another great option is the spinach or broccoli cake with grilled vegetables on top and sauce on the side. Lastly, try the grits or oatmeal with fresh fruit. The presentation in ceramic dishes is unique and adds to the dining experience. Overall, the restaurant has a quirky and cool vibe that I enjoy.
The vegan pancakes were delicious and the tofu scramble was great. The diner coffee was good and the overall atmosphere was wonderful. Don't be foolish, this place is fantastic.
Despite the bad reviews of this place, I wanted to try anyway. on the first look this place looks like a typical open floor with friendly staff and some clean layout. I sat down myself and ordered a cup of coffee with mandelmike, which came almost cold (probably is sitting for one). I still wanted to be something from a daredevil and order something to eat after a cold coffee. I ordered the vegan pancakes and asked for the vegan butter that was decent, I also got the tufo scrambled with domestic fries and toast. the tofu had no taste (curcuma only and a few small vegetables), and the fryed were the worst I had ever had (grounded like a bite and grilled), some were not completely boiled. the reason why I would not revisit this restaurant is, they have cooked everything on the same grill, together with meat, eggs and cheese. I have no food allergy on meat, milk or eggs, but if they advertise vegan food, it should be vegan food (that is not meat milk or egg touch).
This restaurant has a nice mood and friendly staff, but the vegan pancakes and tofu ulcers are cooked on the same section of the grill, as many other non- vegan breakfast items (menu with speck, eggs, ham, etc). if that doesn't bother them and they decide about the pancakes, the only syrup they have is packed with preservatives, caramel coloring and many other ingredients I couldn't say. I decided to get a fruit dish that was beautifully presented, but for $7 I would at least expect all the fruits in it to be ripe. no great restaurant pick if they are serious about being a vegan.
