La Cevicheria - Progreso

Asked hotel front desk for recommendation for good seafood. This was one of two. Our meal was fantastic. Service was great too. One caveat, it was after tourist season and NONE of the restaurants were too busy so service pretty much HAD to be good :) Anyway, price was a little high but considering the quality of the meal, I felt it was worth it.

Hands down the best fish I've had in Progreso...been going there my whole life and the service was great and the food was delicious!

My friend Manuel and I decided to have a good lunch somewhere after a day at Progreso Beach on the northern coast of the Yucantan peninsula in Mexico. We were glad we chose this place. The service was fast and friendly and the tastey fish dishes we had were well worth our visit. My friend had a michelada to drink while I had an orange Fanta. I had fish Veracruz style and Manuel had a local fish delicacy. It was nice that they accepted credit cards too. The view of the Gulf of Mexico with its greenish teal shades was stunning. We also liked the nice high chairs and tables that make the view of the "malecon" (esplanade) more inviting since we could watch everyone passing by. Yes, do stop by and enjoy, you will leave satisfied and re-newed to enjoy the sights of Progreso.

Fun beach view restaurant. We had fantastically orders of fresh crab and fish ceviches plus guacamole. Attentive service. Well priced menu. A great place for a light and tasty lunch.

We really enjoyed our lunch at La Cevicheria. There are big windows looking out at the beach across the street and the staff were quick to take our order and bring our food and drinks. We were pleased by the affordable price given the location and the quality of the food was great, too! Our waiter went the extra mile by helping to direct us onwards to a bank and grocery store.
