I took the menu and went back to the table, just about... she overwhelmed me. I confronted them with overload, but she said all prices had risen....for tourists. Menu still the same. I have a family there to never visit this restaurant again. I support local but not dishonest companies!!!! I would give this business a 0 rating if it would leave me.
I and my father ate lunch and they served us children's sizes portions, why do people say something is good if it is not good, but they spit in your food or not you have not to EAT THERE AGAIN!!!
We went to Lee Ann's restaurant for lunch on one of many walks along 3rd Avenue in downtown Prince Rupert. It is a neat and simple place serving Vietnamese and oriental cuisine. We were served by a Vietnamese lady. We both ordered pasta dishes. One was a Stir Fried Pork in egg noodles, and the other was a vegetarian Stir Fred vegetables in rice (flat) noodles. The quantities were generous and we had to pack some of them. The service was friendly but a tad slow. The prices were reasonable and we enjoyed the taste of the dishes with Chiffel.
We went to dinner to have Vietnamese cuisine. The place was a bit busy with a few tables with customers. The place was clean, though a bit dated, and the service was friendly. The Vietnamese coffee was served, it was something new, but... a welcome option for preferred drinks. We ordered a fried wish to begin, it was crispy with a kind of vinegar dip that came with it. Ordered a few hot plates prawns with vermicelli noodles and stir fry vegetables with shrimps. Both dishes were ok, although something we can get in some other similar places in Rupert. Overall, it was an average dinner, but we left with a full stomach and felt like we paid the right thing for the food we got.
I recently returned to Lee Ann Restaurant for the first time since I wrote my last review of the place just over two years ago. When I first visited in 2016, I basically said I’d only come here because it was the only place...open at the time. Fast-forward two years and I find myself here again, but not just as a “last resort.” On the contrary, I came here again because, to be blunt, I was getting kind of tired of frequenting the same restaurants over and over. It was time for a change and, I thought, why not revisit Lee Ann? The first thing I noticed was that the interior was repainted and refreshed. This makes sense because I did note last year, when walking by the restaurant, that it was closed for a short while and was clearly getting some work done. Now, I’m not sure if I’m just imagining this, but I also think the restaurant also got some newer seats? Regardless, this fresh coat of paint, so to speak, was a welcomed change. No longer did the interiors of Lee Ann look “tired and run down” as I wrote in my earlier review. In fact, the new interiors very much mirrored the bright and friendly service you receive and, just as important, symbolized a change in the food – quality-wise – as I was about to find out. For dinner, I ordered a couple of things. For the starter, I again ordered the combo plate, which features a chicken and beef skewer, chicken wings, spring roll and deep fried shrimp. The skewer once again had excellent flavour and, to my mind, was more evenly cooked than during my last visit because it was tender throughout. The shrimp carried a nice crispy exterior and were not overdone. Likewise with the spring roll; and while I still maintain the wings are of the same type you can get at the grocery store (pre-packaged), they’re at least the flavourful kind and are cooked very well. For my main, I ordered the vaguely described “prawns sautéed with sauce.” Who am I to say no to mystery sauce? In fairness, this dish was easily the star of everything I ordered. First, the prawns arrived on a sizzling plate with heaps of fresh vegetables, including broccoli and delightful button mushrooms. They were accompanied by a plate of vermicelli noodles, which you could scoop the hot plate on (which I did). The resulting flavour combination was a true delight. FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: Well, Ol’ PookyCake is always ready and willing to offer a revised opinion when it’s merited, as was the case here at Lee Ann Restaurant. In the intervening two years between visits, it is plainly obvious that this establishment took steps to freshen up its appearance while concomitantly upping the game on its food offerings. Whether you want Vietnamese or Western cuisine, Lee Ann offers good value, a wide menu and flavourful eats. Recommended! PS: If you found this review helpful in any way please hit the helpful button!
