In the tradition of true hole in the wall restaurant being completely spectacular... this is absolutely one of the best! I spent literally every day here for lunch over a two-week period while writing a book and surfing their Wi-Fi and tried everything on the menu twice. The food is completely authentic and handmade including the dumplings which you simply do not want to miss no matter what! If you let them know in advance she will make BanhMi and literally anything with sweet-and-sour is phenomenal! The owners are wonderful and kind. The restaurant has little ambience but that's entirely the point. Quite simply I wish I could give this more than five stars for food quality and delightful people.
Been in Playa for almost 2 months now and I want to kick myself for not going to see Mama Wang before! Can I say WOW! I have no words to describe how delicious this food was! Place is super unassuming when you see it but trust me on this one its AMAZING! I've never been to Shanghai but I been to many many Chinese restaurants in LA and this little hole in the wall is the best I've had and in Mexico!!! Mama Wang keeps it real as she makes everything from scratch! Even the sauces! You will have to wait a couple minutes when you ask for garlic chili sauce or sweet and sour because she is back there whipping it up! Get to know here she is so excited to tell you about her place and how she makes everything from scratch because simply is not available here. We got the spring rolls, curry shrimp, veggie fried rice (we ate it before a photo!) and chow mein mixed all superb! And big portions too. The tea, brewed of course it's great too. Most people get to go that's why you will rarely see people eating here but it's a place not to miss! Price is so beyond affordable and I wouldn't mind paying double for food this good! Thumbs up mama Wang and fam!
