Contribuiți la feedbackThis the type of small cosy and comfortable places I love. Authentic, family owned and operated, well decorated with a warm atmosphere. Delicious dishes coming directly from the farm or locally produced, original menu, we had a delightful diner. The wine menu is italian with a good choice. The ratio price/quality is very correct. Try to book in advance, if you are a small group of 6 to 8 people, you have a table in a small room just next to the fireplace, charming !
We had a team diner 2 days ago and these guys know how to drive you through an Italian food and wine journey. Good quality food, good presentation, good atmosphere We shared a good moments(6 or 7 different dishes, I don’t remember) but all good and original
Has the world gone completely mad? When you go into a restaurant and are charged €101, don 't you expect at least to feel less hungry when you go out than when you went in? 101 euros. People just accept these enormous sums these days and smile at the waiter, saying yes the meal was wonderful thank you so much etc etc. Madness. From the à la carte menu I avoided the antipasti and had a first course consisting of a few strips of pasta coated in a not unpleasant but weakly seasoned, insubstantial tomato/cheese sauce: preparation time surely no more than 30 seconds once the pasta is cooked. With my nonexist culinary skills I could have prepared this dish in the dark, wearing boxing gloves. Well, I thought, the second course will surely make up for this insipid bit of fluff. This is where I would have walked into the kitchen and thrashed the chef to within an inch of his life verbally, of course had I had more than a beginner 's command of Italian: two trout fillets in a slightly spicy breadcrumb coating and one of those skidmarks that passes these days for an accompanying sauce. But wait they had been stood on edge in jaunty fashion, rather than lying flat on the plate! Bravo! Certainly worth at least 10 euros for that alone feat alone! Again, not an unpleasant taste, but no discernible taste of trout; just a vaguely bready, spicy nothingness. The 'sauce ' performed no role in this farce whatsoever. That was what this dish, for 14 euros, amounted to. Feeble. For an extra 5 euros I had a side salad. Oh dear me again, with my meagre kitchen skills I could have done far, far better. It 's just not good enough to chop up a tomato, some lettuce and a bit of carrot and get the waiter to say that there 's some dressing in there, somewhere, but if you must, here 's a bottle of olive oil and some salt. It just tasted of plain tomato, lettuce and carrot. No dressing. But it was artfully arranged in nice straight lines! I 'm getting used now to assuming that the more elaborate the structure of the food on the plate, the less likely it will actually taste of anything. A thorough waste of money. The coffee, a 'capuccino ', as usual on this visit to Italy, was watery, lukewarm and gone in two small mouthfuls. My wife professed to enjoy the meal very much, but I know the sound of denial when I hear it. It was a choice between smiling and leaving with magnanimity, or running screaming into the kitchen with a raised cleaver. We did the former, and I made myself a ham sandwich, price about a quarter of a euro, when we got back to the flat. Staff very pleasant. Bit of a dungeon like atmosphere.
Such a relaxing place in the tiny Pragelato... enjoy their fantastic croissants or biscuits homemade... (biscuits a bit expensive though but good ; then enjoy the shade in their garden
