Cottage Tea Rooms - Powys

Actually nice place, but overwhelmed operation (at about 10 guests), then two cola ordered, but only one got... was sold out... rest was fine.

We went to this quaint delightful tea room/restaurant yesterday around 6.30pm. We really wanted a lighter evening meal and found this place online on goggle maps.I had Homity Pie with salad, my husband had a chicken pasta dish. I love Homity Pie and it is a good vegetarian dish for me. This was by far, the best Homity pie I’ve ever tasted. Very light and tasty . My husband enjoyed his pasta.Today we went back for lunch and each chose a spicy bean and pepper skillet dish, which sounded different and appetising. It came with eggs of your choice and salad. We wasn’t disappointed. The menu makes such a refreshing change and is well thought out and all food is cooked to perfection. Well done to chef and very pleasant waiting staff. Wished we lived nearer, as would frequent this place all the time.

Our first visit to a very pleasant restaurant with good food and a wide range of freshly prepared choices. We will return soon.

Nice food and cost atmosphere with good prices but a nearby group seemed to have everything wrong with their order, and it was a bit stressful being near that as it got sorted out. Our meal took a while to come but the owners were friendly and it was very tasty when it arrived, although the portions are a bit small (reflecting the small prices). Perhaps more of a lunch portion.
