Top Flight Bbq - Powell

Large grill in a small out-of-the-way place. Not many seats, but the food is great. Get a barbecue, a sweet tea and enjoy yourself.

This was our first visit to Top Flight BBQ. They're a little hidden and we haven't known yet. Our meal was delicious! We have the family meal with the Brisket. It was so tender! The owner heard us talking about whether we like the brisket or not and would cut us a sample. All four of us loved it. We also have Mac and cheese and beans. These pages were also delicious. Your prices are excellent compared to other BBQ restaurants. You have 8 seats, but we needed it. We often come back!

All right! Definitely a hidden jewel in Powell! The brisket was so tender and juicy. The sauces complement each other exceptionally. The baked beans and Mac cheese were both excellent. The maize cake is like a sweet treat and the end of the meal with a very beautiful honey glaze! The owner is a super nice guy who really cares about his customers!

Powell, what a hidden jewel! The BBQ is the best in Powell and gives you something different than all fast food sites. I had baked the potatoes salad and beans for the sides and they were excellent, no from the glass here all made home. Loved it, loved it! I'll be back and I'd rather give my business to the locals if the food is brilliant! Thanks Top Flight BBQ, see on my next trip!

PROS: Fantastic beef brisket, the best I've ever had! Great BBQ, sides, and a proprietor who clearly takes pride in his craft. Five Stars CONS: The last four (4) times I've been there he was closed during published business hours. Perhaps he was just catering all those times? Perhaps he felt no need to staff the store or post any revised hours of operation? Perhaps he is smoking all the meat he can manage by himself and just bales for a day or two for some unscheduled peace and quiet? Too bad for me; too bad for everyone else... BOTTOM LINE: I'll keep trying until I see plywood in the windows. If you catch him OPEN, stop by and support him, the food is that good.
