If you are looking for Americanized Chinese Food, please go here and go to P.F Chang or elsewhere. This place is not for you. If you are looking for a well decorated place, with fancy food, please go here and go to H.Y Asian Cuisine or Hong Kong House. If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, then there is no better place in Columbus area for you to try (unless someone you know who can cook at home for you). It's a typical family restaurant. They only cook what they have been cooked for decades. I think this is much better than some restaurants here (the many people with 0 experiences with cooking rent). For most Chinese in the city, this place is the best choice for them.
One of the best Asian restaurants in the center of Ohio. We make it to China Bistro at least once a month for high quality authentic dishes. In my opinion, Columbus's journey is also worth it. I would recommend to visitors if possible to try authentic dishes, you will not regret your decision, and it could even change your perspective on Asian food (if not unusual) as I know for myself. Frozen tofu and cabbage soup, pork with flat tofu, various dumplings, and many others are all excellent. The indoor atmosphere is no-frills, simple decoration and minimal seating, but don't let that make a visit. Service is always good and food arrives very quickly. Prices are comparable to many other restaurants. Recommended.
The food here is worth WELL's money. When you look at the part of the city, I would have expected much higher prices. I was pleasantly surprised to get a larger than average part of food for about half the price, what other places in the area fees. I have Crab Rangoon and the Kung Pao Chicken w/ Fried Rice. The Crab Rangoon was pretty good, I could actually see crab meat! The fried rice is somewhat different, but I really enjoyed it; larger pieces of egg, not as fat as others, and the bean sprouts and scalions were a nice addition. The Kung Pao Chicken was made with (what looked like) Jalapeños, who made me first skeptical, but it ended up part of the best Kung Pao I had; the vegetables were crisp, the sauce was perfect, and the dish was sufficiently sharp! Once again, portion size was very generous as it was just like $5 6. Others in my family got Sesam Chicken and Pepper Steak. The execution order was completed within 15 minutes, the lady who treated the order seemed very friendly and outgoing (for Chinese restaurants in my experience. Overall, I have heard that this restaurant is more of an authentic takeover of the northeastern Chinese cuisine. I personally enjoyed it very much, but those who are less adventurous and want more Americanized farewell might think it's just OK. Prices are very low compared to other places in the area, but the portion size is definitely generous. I will definitely be back for more!
Hands down, best Northeater Chinese I cost outside China. Price is amazingly low and you get a huge part of food! Very recommended.
