Oktoberfest Germania - Poughkeepsie

Germania Hall is a German cultural association that offers a tranquil atmosphere for a Wednesday lunch. With so few authentic German restaurants around, this place truly stands out. I had the chicken paprikash, which was accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes, and a hearty mushroom soup packed with real mushrooms. My friend ordered the bratwurst, sauerkraut, and German potato salad, and she shared that it brought back wonderful memories of her time in Germany many years ago. On November 17, 2018, Germania hosted its annual Christmas sale along with an expanded menu. Despite the crowd, the delicious food made the wait worthwhile. While waiting in line, there’s plenty of time to browse the handmade crafts and chat with the vendors. We were fortunate to find a heated tent for dining, which was a fantastic addition!

Delicious food! I placed an online order and picked up a fantastic meal with a drink from Germania. I've attended Oktoberfest numerous times, and this is the next best experience. They offer excellent German takeout dinners on Saturday nights. Highly recommend!

The food is incredibly tasty and served in generous portions, clearly made with a lot of care! Don't forget to pick up some German beer for takeout too!

On May 1st, we ordered the Stuffed Boneless Pork Chop takeout, and it was a fantastic deal for just $12! The meal included a generous-sized stuffed pork chop, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, sauerkraut, a slice of bread, and chocolate cake for dessert. You really can't beat this offer! The food was absolutely delicious; the pork was tender and the mashed potatoes were wonderfully creamy. We're already looking forward to the next event!
