Mahoney's Irish Pub Steak House

I met some friends here, and we were all impressed by our server, David, who provided excellent service. Everyone enjoyed their meals thoroughly. The food was fresh, and the portion sizes were generous.

I visited on March 17, 2023, for a private party in the private room. It was my first time at this restaurant, and I was surprised by how spacious it is.

Overall, it's a nice restaurant located next to the train tracks. It was enjoyable to watch the trains passing by during lunch. The menu is decent, but considering it's an Irish pub...

The service was excellent—friendly and prompt. The burger was decent, but honestly, not something I would return for. While it was a standard burger, it could have been a bit juicier. They might want to consider pressing it down on the grill to retain those juices, like many other places do. Nonetheless, it’s a good spot for a quick bite or drink before or after a train ride.

I dined there with my family eight years ago, and it was amazing. I returned this weekend, and I'm happy to say it's still just as perfect. The food was excellent, the atmosphere remains wonderful, and the staff is friendly. Plus, the restaurant is conveniently located right across the parking lot from the Metro-North Amtrak station in Poughkeepsie.
