Trattoria Sofia - Potton

This restaurant is a wonderful spot to gather with friends and family, enjoying delicious food and excellent service. Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail, as owner Pat is deeply committed to ensuring guests have the best possible dining experience.

We made a last-minute reservation on a busy Friday evening, and were not disappointed. I found some items a little overcooked, but the rest of my family was quite happy with their choices and would go back again for a repeat performance. The pizzas we...ordered were tasty and generous in their size and toppings, albeit a little oily, possibly due to the generosity of the cheese topping. My husband's spaghetti carbonara was highly approved of, as was his deep fried calamari. My son adored his escargots and was most complimentary about the sauce in which they were served. There was a less than ideal pause between courses, but the extremely personable waitress more than compensated with the provision of bread rolls and water refills, and the appropriate apologies for any delays, something that is frequently missing in many establishments. Since the restaurant was so busy we understood the challenges of perfect service. The prices were very reasonable, and I hope this restaurant will be supported locally as it fills a bit of a void in terms of local eateries.

The restaurant has very limited hours. We went for lunch, but they only had burgers and salads, no pasta or pizza available. I made a reservation for dinner, but there was only one waitress for all the guests. It took 20 minutes to take our order and over an hour to receive our main course. There was no offer of drinks refills, no bread on our table, and we had to ask for Parmesan cheese. The candles were not lit and we were served before the men sitting next to us who had arrived before us. The tortellini gigi was delicious, but not worth the wait. Overall, we were not satisfied with the experience and will not be returning to this restaurant.

When considering the cost, you may expect a higher quality of food. However, the dishes are decent but not outstanding. The prices are too high for the overall dining experience.
