Addie's - Potomac

The food at this restaurant was excellent. We visited on a Friday when the Coronavirus was still a concern and the government had declared an emergency. Due to the circumstances, there was not a large crowd. We definitely plan to return once things settle down to experience the true atmosphere. The bread they served us was amazing and we even asked for an extra serving while we waited for our meal.

We had a wonderful dinner last Friday. The hostess was very friendly and our server, Adam, was attentive and excellent.

The restaurant offers a nice selection of wines by the glass and generous cocktails. The menu is small but of good quality, with delightful combinations that accompany the entrees. We highly recommend trying the profiteroles. We enjoyed our meal overall. The portions are not huge, but that was perfect for us and the prices reflected this.

We have eaten at Addie’s in Park Potomac many times since it opened; we also ate at the original Addie’s and other Black Restaurant Group locations, in particular Black Market Bistro, and have always been pleased. However, our visit on Saturday, 02/29, was a horrible experience. We arrived shortly before our 11:45 reservation, placed our orders no later than 12:10, and, with the exception of a soup that one member of the party ordered which arrived quickly, did not receive our meals until almost 1:00. I know the time since I checked my watch to see how close we were to exceeding the 2-hour free parking window. Consequently, we had to eat quickly to make sure to get to our cars in time. At one point, the waiter told us the delay was due to a party of 30 in the side room; however, I do not believe that was the cause since diners at tables near ours arrived after us, were served before us, and some finished and left before we were ever served. We also received no apology for the delay. A different waiter asked a member of the party if she wanted a refill for her iced tea. When he brought it, he asked if we needed anything else — my wife asked for a refill for her iced tea and his response was that she should have asked before to save him a trip — no excuse for that attitude. While we will continue to dine at Black Market Bistro, and other Black Group locations, it is highly unlikely that we will return to Addie’s.

Good food. Good service. Very nice experience all around.
