I went to try the smores hot chocolate, but it was my third attempt as the previous times the restaurant had closed early or started to close up before I could order. Although it was open this time, I had to wait in a long line with only one person in front of me. The server seemed frustrated and rolled her eyes when someone returned food that was incorrect. In the end, I settled for a regular hot chocolate that tasted terrible. It was clear that the staff was under a lot of stress due to a shortage of employees. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I stopped by this café while shopping for a book before my train journey. I decided to have a coffee, which was good but not very hot. I also bought some sandwiches and two chocolate shortbread slices to take with me on the train. The staff member serving me was exceptionally friendly. The sandwiches were already wrapped, but she put the shortbreads in a takeout container for me. However, I would have preferred a bag as it was difficult to fit the box in my packed bag. The sandwiches and shortbreads were fresh and delicious, much better than the train trolley food. The café was peaceful and welcoming, providing a nice break from the busy town center.
It’s so good to pop into this cafe located above the book store. The staff are always super friendly and there is always a selection of cakes wrapped separately and crisps suitable for coeliacs (gluten free). There is a lift those who need it and plenty of wide aisles suitable for wheelchair users. There are sofas and low coffee tables as well as tables and chairs. I tried a cold drink today made with mango which was delicious and it’s good to see that they use paper straws too.
Well, what a lovely place to eat and drink!! It had a great atmosphere (we went there after the Costa across from the bookshop was full and had many dirty tables) I had the soya mocha (delicious, and they made it exactly how I asked) my friend had a soya coconut latte (we are both veggies) tried the cupcakes which were lush.. apparently they are vegan.. would never have known.. lovely! I even asked for 2 to take away!!! Was a lovely treat before bed! Would come back again and probably won’t bother with the Costa that’s across the road... much better service, atmosphere and products. Thankyou cafe w A+ xx
