Contribuiți la feedbackI found the entire experience at the Spinnaker Tower to be a bit tired and shabby, but thankfully the views were good. I used a Virgin Experience voucher (which I wouldn't purchase again), and booked a High Tea. I was not impressed with how the organization was handled - we had to wait for everyone to gather on the viewing deck, then wait for the lift, and then wait to be seated. The high tea itself looked okay, but the sandwiches were mediocre with unimaginative fillings. If you don't like mustard or cream cheese, you may be out of luck. The scones were decent and the cake selection was slightly more interesting. The staff were pleasant, but seemed to be struggling to keep up. Unfortunately, the guy in charge of the lift back down was not on top of things, leading to a long wait. Overall, it was a very average experience.
Great high tea , ham and mustard , cheese , tuna and onion and cream cheese and chutney sandwich , scone with cream and jam , fresh berries , macaroons , carrot cake , red velvet cake ect , 4pm so could see Portsmouth in the daylight and dark
I suppose you come here for the view. However the tables by the windows tend to be reserved for those who have booked the afternoon tea experience. We just had the ordinary tables, we ordered the cream tea/coffee. It comes with a scone and clotted cream. It is a bit expensive for what you get, I liked my coffee.
Booked a 60th Birthday Afternoon Tea. 10:00 a.m on the morning of the visit, received a phone call. Lifts out of action. Maintenance work had overrun, so we could not have Afternoon Tea in 'Clouds '. This call could have, and should have been made before the close of play the day before. We were offered a refund or a re schedule (but this would have meant my partner had taken the half day off work for nothing). We asked if there was an alternative on the day. We were then told we could have Afternoon Tea, but in the basic, ground floor cafe. We had paid £60 for the experience of sitting in the Clouds Cafe, with entrance to the Tower included, so we asked what reduction would be offered, were we to accept this suggestion. We were told that NO reduction would be given, 'because you 'll still have had the Afternoon Tea '. Totally unfair. The ground floor cafe is 'ordinary '; there are no views like the ones from Clouds Cafe; being school hoilday time, it would have been packed with families very noisy. Hardly the special experience we had paid for. The official then informed us that we could still have entrance to the Tower ... provided that we were happy to accept that 'today is a stair day ' and that we climbed the Tower using the stairs. I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees, so we declined this 'offer ' and asked for our money back. Everyone accepts that hitches happen now and again. What ISN 'T acceptable is to then offer an inferior experience for the same price. Very poor.
I visited the restaurant by myself one afternoon. The two women working there were unwelcoming and not accommodating. I decided not to make a purchase and do not recommend this restaurant.
