I had visited Black Trumpet previously with my girlfriend and had requested a vegan meal, which they graciously prepared for us. The modified version of their vegetarian dish was excellent. So, when we decided to bring two of our newly vegan friends to the restaurant, we called ahead once again. This time, Evan, one of the owners and head chef, treated us to an incredible 4-course meal. The Black Trumpet sources many ingredients directly from Evan's garden and also gathers wild mushrooms in southern Maine. Evan personally delivered each dish to us and provided an explanation for each one. I must say, we received exceptional treatment during our visit. While the Black Trumpet is not known for its vegan options and offers many fish and meat-centric dishes (including foie gras on the menu), it was a fantastic experience to enjoy a top-tier vegan meal prepared by a master chef at what could be considered one of the best restaurants in the Seacoast area.

While Black Trumpet is not primarily a vegan restaurant and offers many fish and meat dishes (including foie gras), it was a wonderful experience to enjoy a high-quality vegan meal prepared by a talented chef at one of the best restaurants in the area.
