Parkside Grille - Portola Valley

The cocktails were tasty and the food was enjoyable. However, the waitstaff made us feel rushed as they quickly cleared our plates the moment we finished eating. This took away from the overall relaxing dining experience.

This restaurant has become our regular go-to spot after visiting our grandchildren every week. We really enjoy it! The permanent menu is great, but their daily specials are also excellent. The style of food is comfort food, but it is done exceptionally well.

The food at this restaurant is pretty good, but it is on the expensive side, which is typical for this region. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is no longer as welcoming and pleasant as it once was. The service is lacking, with minimal attention to the customers, and it seems like the staff may be overwhelmed and unhappy. Overall, our experience was not very enjoyable, and we were eager to leave as soon as possible, skipping drinks and dessert. Hopefully, the restaurant can improve and overcome whatever issues they may be facing.

We went to the restaurant on Sunday night and were surprised to find that they charged us for bread. It's common for upscale restaurants to offer complimentary bread while enjoying cocktails, so it's disappointing to see them start charging for it. This isn't the first time they've started charging for something that was previously included, as last winter they even charged for extra heaters for outdoor tables. Despite this, we have been dining at Parkside for many years and have always received excellent service and delicious food from the waitstaff. However, it's disheartening to see them nickel-and-diming their customers.

The food was fantastic! The ambiance in the forest was incredible! The service was top-notch! I highly recommend this restaurant.
