Le Plage - Porto-Vecchio

I hate to leave negative reviews, but this is not a great place... all (attempted) chic over substance coupled with an unfriendly attitude. Surprisingly, we went twice whilst staying nearby. We went for dinner the first time. Punchy booking policy with a €30 a head cancellation charge which is higher than Michelin restaurants, but fair enough, need people to turn up. On turning up though, the service was just unfriendly. Indifferent at best. Despite having booked several days in advance, we were shown to a table somewhere near the back which wasn't even set up, whilst all the nice tables near the water remained free... some for the duration of our time there. When I asked if we could move, I was told they were all booked. And it carried on from there. Largely ignored, having to chase everything including the bill, taciturn service when it turned up. Food was okay to be fair. Over-priced vs. other (much friendlier) restaurants along the beach, but okay. Despite that, we ended up going again. Mainly because it has a super location near the centre of the beach, the kids were doing water-sports so it was the most convenient place to get a drink whilst watching them. This time the service was even worse. Literally had to chase every single thing, forgot one of the drinks we ordered (impressive when you've only ordered three things) and a cocktail we had was warm. What made it really frustrating was the way the waiting staff fawned over the guys in designer swim-shorts ordering magnums of Rose, whilst ignoring most other people. By the way, small thing... I was asked to put on a t-shirt whilst there. Fine. I get that, not that unusual. But guess what, the guys in designer swim-shorts weren't asked... So, unless you fancy being treated as a second class citizen, avoid

It was a wonderful evening. The staff was really super attentive and very eager. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated.

Idyllic place, good food, nice welcome, transat comfort, and incredible view on the beach.

I came as part of my vacation in Porto-Vecchio, I came to the beach restaurant 3 times, reception and services at the top. Special mention to Benjamin for his professionalism and always listening
