Contribuiți la feedbackWe were recommended this place by our Guide as it is the only place in Porto to bake the Francesinha (Portugese local dish) in a wood burning oven. Locals come here to eat, nothing fancy, away from the touristy restaurants and a good price. Also provided a Vegetarian Francesinha for our vegi daughter!!!
Cheap and good dinner here, on the way back to our hotel Vincci Porto. House wine was delicious and went well with the Francesinha. Lovely service too by the wait staff :
We went for lunch as we wanted to try Francesinha. The ham was more like Spam and the sausage was horrible. We didn’t eat it, I’m sure there must be better ones in Porto than this. People should also be aware that bread, pate and pastry put on the table when you sit down is not free. I realise now this is a Portuguese custom, but we didn’t know when we were paying, and the manager said “I know it’s unfair, but that’s the law” I pointed out that you should let people know in advance, especially when you have hungry toddlers staring at the bread and food while waiting. After quite a tense exchange, they reluctantly refunded the cost of the extras which we didn’t order.
Right across the river, inside a museum it’s the right price for a nice simple dinner in the big oven. They specialize in Portuguese Francessina Must try their Sangria, it is awesome.
We came here because our guide recommended it. It is a family restaurant and the service is very good. The francesinha was good (it was recommended) but I really didn't like it. With francesinhas, or you love them or you hate them. But the restaurant was very good and I would go back to try different diches.
