Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a good fast-casual vegan food option, especially for late at night, but nothing I ever had here really smile on my face. drinks are pleasant, not great. it seems as if it were trying to please the greatest possible palate and lose something interesting on the way. updated by previous review on 2019-10-08
Where else can they get a meal with four types of curries, rice and a massive piece of freshly prepared vegan naan for just $6? tell them vegan at the order and they will sign everything that is not. the curries were not bad, just a bit too tame for my taste. the naan was absolutely amazing and more than for the weaker side dishes. overall I was very happy with my experience here and would not hesitate to come back!
Located just a few blocks north of the main center, you will find this Portland food truck to satisfy their Indian almost food guests. eating is fast and refined hot in a huge portion that can really feed 2 people. Except you are really in the food and really hungry. they have a website that tells them what is vegan, but they can also just tell them what they want, and they will let them know quickly whether it is or not vegan. some items can not be veganized. a large part of the food is prepared in advance, so if they are out, they are out. there are also street food, such as samosas and chips, lentil donuts and puri. fun is fun to eat, but good, not the healthiest. it is fabulous but filling, and super affordable. order the 6 items (rice naan 4 dishes) meal for $6.50 (with control.) yes, please. it is more eating that you should really eat, but it is so good. the problem is that it is not really healthier eating. large protein source with the chana and the dal, but many carbs from the rice, naan and kartoffeln. the dal and Chana dishes are my favorite. also the veggies are difficult to miss and lacking. the spinach/saag dishes must use frozen spinat because it is so spinat green in bad sense and so fine pure, I can't imagine that to fresh spinat. the herbal khorma has hidden veggies coated so thick in sauce, I never knew what I had eaten. the sauces are however phenomenal, but some of them are strongly coconut-based and they do not skip, so the calorie are high. who cares when they eat at a food truck for $6.50, they are probably not really worried about calorie and high veggie content.
I am a huge Indian fan, so when I moved a few blocks away from this booze, I was really happy to be too foot from a curry house! traditionally on the east coast is Indian food pretty hard to find and very expensive. bombay chaat house is very affordable and very tasty. Add to my excitement, the basket is 100% vegetarian, so I avoid special orders or queries about the ingredients. every time I ordered from here, even if I ordered quantities for me and my friend, the cost was under $15 and we had enough food for lunch the next day, or later in the evening per call my tastemates. eating is always very hot and fresh and the taste proves that it is homemade. the personal is always very friendly and happy to see all the parasols. I recommend these basket to anyone who wishes a beautiful curry or everyone willing to try one!
I had read about this place on happycow and decided to stop in on my Portland trip a while back. Here's my Bombay Chaat House review. This is a food cart, not a restaurant. The guys working in the truck were friendly. I ordered a tandoori bread with potato stuff and a chai with soymilk. There was a small line of people getting food here. Very cheap food. Tasted okay. But the chai was too sweet for me (likely sweetened with regular sugar). Street food feel, nothing gourmet, but fills a craving for quite Indian bite.
