Sushi Sakura - Portland

I stumbled upon some old pictures I took a while back, and it reminded me of this restaurant that had great sushi. They offered a wide variety of options and provided quick service. Plus, you get to select your dishes from a conveyor belt!

Quick and tasty! We walked in, took a seat, and were eating in just 5 minutes! Plus, we were pleasantly surprised to find out it was happy hour, and all the dishes were only $2.25 each!

The food is delicious, and there's a fantastic variety compared to other conveyor belt sushi places I've visited. It's a real shame that they are still closed. I hope they can reopen soon! For now, it looks like I'll have to make do with the belt sushi options in Tigard.

I must say that the food does not justify the price, and the service was quite poor. It seems they have very low standards across the board. For instance, if the food isn't cut evenly, it makes for an unpleasant experience where you end up with bites that are unmanageable. The only waitress appears to be either the owner's daughter or wife; she doesn't smile and seems overwhelmed with greeting customers and processing payments. The owner just wanders around the restaurant without engaging; when you ask for more water, he merely instructs the waitress to handle it. If you want to place an order, he doesn't communicate directly but instead points to the chef, which comes off as rather rude. As for the salmon, it falls short of even average standards; they only use certain parts that contain fat or white stripes for sashimi. Overall, the quality of the salmon is very disappointing and certainly not worth the money.
