Contribuiți la feedbackAll You Can Eat Pancakes!? Sign me the hell up! On my search for a vegan brunch in Portland, South x Northwest popped up because they offered a bottomless pancake bonanza during their weekend brunches for $12. Orders are taken via QR code. We got the pancakes as well as their Country Fried Steak $18), which includes two sides so we went with their collared greens and their mac n cheese. Pancakes were FIRE probably the fluffiest pancakes I 've had in a long time. The impossible 'steak ' was a bit too salty for my liking but not bad by any means. Stick with the pancakes if you come here because these were amazing. Tip: If you get the pancakes, make sure to not close out until after you 're done. You 're supposed to order refills from the app but can ask the server if you wish. Service here was also very friendly although they can be hard to flag down when it 's busy. Hence they rely a lot on the app. They also offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I loved being able to sit outside and enjoy a nice summer day especially as there isn 't a lot of space indoors.
Good portions, and nice drinks. Their patio has a good vibe, enjoyed a summer evening. I ordered the bowl with grits and mushroom and I have to say it was too salty. The service was a bit choppy for an early evening when the restaurant wasn't too busy.
I ordered food from here and had it delivered so I can't speak on the experience of in-house service or the atmosphere of the restaurant. What I can say is that the food was delicious and they got our order correct. Both of their breakfast burritos were good, they could have used a little more spice but that's what hot sauce is for. I was surprised at how many gluten free options they had and that they can make all their burrito options gluten free by offering it as a bowl instead with a side of tortilla chips. Glad we were able to try this place while visiting for the weekend.
So when we arrived, I was planning on ordering a burger but their grill wasn 't being used because it was heating the inside of the restaurant too much. It was a bummer, but we were able to order meal plates instead, which had a lot of options and variety! The inside of this place is super small and crowded quick, we had to sit outside because of this and it was sweltering outside. Get here before rush times to be seated indoors if it is hot. We ordered the fried chick 'n and gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, hush puppies. Cornbread, baked beans, bacon potato salad, and fried steak with gravy, as well as the fried mushrooms (my favorite!!! Both of us weren 't all that impressed with the plant protein chick 'n and steak. We enjoyed the sides much more. What stood out was the cornbread, the mashed potatoes and gravy (garlicky , and the bacon potato salad. The hush puppies were overdone in my opinion, and kind of dry. I love that there are so many choices when it comes to dipping sauces! Our server was super cool. It was fast and easy service. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and think it 's worth checking out!
Delicious vegan restaurant with lots of gluten free options. I liked the laid back atmosphere. Country fried steak, grits, collard greens, and gluten free pancakes were all wonderful.
