Shigezo - Portland

The best authentic Japanese restaurant in Portland, without a doubt. Traditional seating, incredible food, and the most charming staff. Just make sure to arrive right when it opens, as there is usually a waitlist!

One of the first restaurants in the U.S., this establishment offers incredibly authentic Japanese cuisine that truly satisfies. The restaurant also boasts a variety of traditional seating options that add to the overall experience.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Portland, but when I ordered my food yesterday, I was shocked by the quality and prices. I got tempura udon and one sushi roll and it came out to be almost $50. The noodles in the udon were not traditional udon noodles, and I did not enjoy their shape or texture as much as I enjoy the normal udon noodles. This restaraunt used to be amazing, and now I don’t think I would come back.

The sushi is great. The atmosphere so Japanese especially the table and seats. I highly recommend it.

Food is good, just a bit uninspired. But the atmosphere is to die for and the service has never been bad!
