Salt Straw - Portland

The vibes here make this stop well worth the journey, which makes the excellent quality of the ice cream stand out even more. Fun flavours are the name of the game here!

Our server was not busy but apparently not up for even the barest minimum of friendliness. I mean, it's ice cream, not an underground coffee shop where you're paid to be surly. However, the cashier was friendly and helpful, and this is how it usually is at S S so not sure what the deal was with the server but not the best impression being given to us.

Location is great! Service is fast and the employees do an excellent job describing the ice creams while you sample them. Pretty spacious and lots of seating both inside and out. Now, specifically for this month of Sept 2024: It's apple month! All of them are pretty yummy, except the green apple and wasabi. It just tasted dilute and watery. I'd recommend pairing the pie and with the apple cider donut the other two flavours. Overall though, solid month!

The ice creams are very good but they are a little expensive for me.

It’s no surprise that it’s usually busy but the wait is usually not long. Helpful staff and sea salt is always a base for me!
