It's good enough that you could please enough people by coming here, but there's nothing memorable about the place other than it's clean and has old rail cars to dine in. Seeing the max roll through is nice though. No desire to come back. Garlic bread is better than the pizza since the crust is a little softer. It definitely seems house made for most items. Glad there's a mixed drink option.
Absolutely delicious pizza....light crispy crust, quality toppings and fun easy-going atmosphere. We liked the wide open windows and watching the Maxx go by.Kids love eating in a caboose! Great music, tv and nice people. Not terriblyexpensive too!
Cute concept with the train cars for seating. The guy taking orders was friendly and helpful. The pizza was just okay. The middle was soggy and you had to eat it with a fork or the toppings would slide off the thin limp dough that was supposed to be crust. It wasn 't horrible though. The cheese was good and so was the sauce. What really turned me off was this. They automatically add 18% gratuity up front upon payment. So don 't bother adding extra. I 'll tell you why. You 're expected to bus your own dishes. Their service consists of making your order and dropping it off at your table. Which, if you open a restaurant, is your actual bare minimum job. If I 'm getting my own water, silverware, napkins, parmesan cheese, honey, pepper flakes, and bussing my own table... why am I being charged a gratuity???
Pathetic service. Decent beers and great salad though! The staff at the counter was a j 18% upfront gratuity for such service is a complete waste! The beers and the food were however decent. The location is cute. And if the brewery kicks the unfriendly staff out, this'll be a great fun place to hang out!!
I’ve gone to Mount Hood brewpub many times, and I always love the environment especially on a sunny evening. They also have had the best gluten-free pizza I found in Portland. but out of dough last two visits) However my experience recently was quite distasteful. The staff were rude and they allowed these two large dogs in the bar area, who barked loudly at everybody moving in the area. The dog owners appeared to be friends with the staff as they hung out joking together for two hours. It was disappointing to have the 18% gratuity built-in when in fact, there wasn’t great service. I will try again. Hopefully it was just an off night.
