The Huevos Rancheros "Christmas style" paired with a side of Posole was absolutely perfect! The chile was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I was so full that I couldn't order a Sopapilla this time, but I definitely plan to return!
One of the best meals I've had this year. It was wonderful to discover a place that brought back such strong memories of home. Amazing food, fantastic chili, and wonderful people!
I'm sure many of the locals are not aware of La Panza Cafe, it's hidden behind the Plaid Pantry on 26th and Divion. Those that have discovered this gem are glad it's here. I'm not from New Mexico, but was introduced to the restaurant by a freind who is. She like all the other New Mexicans who have commented on La Panza says it's the real deal. Either way is great food in a cozy little restaurant.
I am from New Mexico, and therefore I know what NM Traditional Food is this is it. You do need to specify how hot you want it, but that is the only thing, other than that, yes, this is The One And Only Place to eat Mexican Cuisine in Portland Oregon. The owners, the wait staff, the cooks, all are spectacular and the food is worth driving from anywhere in the city to get. You will not be disappointed. Check the hours of operation before you go. 26th ave at Division.
This was amazing, authentic and clean food. I thought I had arrived at a really great little spot in New Mexico. Not to be confused with Mexican or Tex-Mex. This is the real deal, all the way from the drinks, huevos, enchiladas, red green chile, sopapillas and flan. Even the owner and the wait staff. This the season for chile roasting in the parking lot. Here is where I will get my fix in Portland! Thanks La Panza for making my day!
