Good World Chinese - Portland

I decided to strike up a conversation with the staff, hoping for a better interaction, but they were quite standoffish. Then, when I asked to place an order for takeout, I mentioned that it was a bit chilly and requested tea. The woman at the counter continued ringing me up, ignoring my request. After asking again, she begrudgingly agreed, though it felt like she didn’t want to help me. It seemed illogical since if I had dined in, I would have been able to order tea. Furthermore, I was very disappointed with the sweet and sour chicken. It was hard and dark in color, which led me to believe it was old chicken. I don't plan to order from there again; I might stop by occasionally to play, but that would be it.

I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. Since it was my first time trying dim sum and I was dining solo, I decided to follow the server's recommendations. She suggested some wonderful dishes that were just the right amount for me. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the taro root dish (I regret I can't recall its name). The tea that accompanied the meal was also excellent! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

The food was quite good overall. I highly recommend the fried shrimp, crab puffs, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour pork, and the shrimp fried rice. They use a deep-frying batter for all their meats rather than breading. However, the General Tso's chicken could have had a bit more spice, and the chicken lo mein noodles were somewhat tough and incredibly dry, lacking flavor, which was disappointing. On a positive note, their fries are unexpectedly the best I’ve ever had!

I discovered this place through another review app, and I must say, a dim sum spot in my area? What a treat! I also tried the orange chicken, and everything I've had so far has been both delicious and affordable. I'm a loyal customer now!

So glad we discovered this place! the sum was fantastic and incredibly affordable. service was great. the place is more beautiful than its typical Chinese restaurant. we really enjoyed the deep lobster balls. we will visit safely again.
