Bernie's Southern Bistro - Portland

This place is epic, especially in the spring and summer months! Sitting out on the deck is a great way to kick off an evening on Alberta st. I do this on a regular basis and have always found it an enjoyable experience!

I enjoy this place. Great southern food helpful upbeat servers. Interesting new menu choices/ beverages..sorta seasonal..and a wonderful outdoor patio seating..weather permitting. Catfish hash delicious!! 2nd favorite waffles an fried chicken with jabenero jelly!! Mmm. A must eat place

I took Jeff, Conor, and Esty to the restaurant to celebrate Conor's 19th birthday. Angie provided excellent service and took great care of us. We were disappointed that Kellie wasn't working that night, as we missed seeing her smiling face. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and cocktails. Ryan is an amazing bartender! We'll definitely be back soon and won't wait so long between visits.

Last night, my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with friends at Bernie's and it was fantastic. We have dined here multiple times and have always had a great time. The food is incredible. We tried the shrimp grits, blackened catfish, short ribs, and meatloaf and all were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The service was top-notch, with our waiter being attentive but not intrusive, with a great sense of humor and patience as we lingered at our table for over 3 hours. There was no rush to get us out, unlike other places we have been. The ambiance was relaxed and we have been coming back for years, always having a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Bernie's for anyone looking for a perfect dining experience.

Great happy hour menu. Large pile of sweet potato fries with a great dipping sauce. Great hush puppies too! Save room for the bananas foster bread pudding!!
