Farmers Arms - Portinscale

This great pub offers delicious pub food, and the staff are very friendly, making you feel welcome every time you visit. The new owners have only been running the place for three weeks, and they are a lovely couple who truly appreciate support from the community. We're planning to return next year and can’t wait to enjoy another visit to this charming pub.

We took a break during our walk between Braithwaite and Keswick and decided to stop here. We enjoyed some time in the beer garden, soaking up the sunshine on our way there, and used the lounge on our way back. The atmosphere was great, and the beer was quite good.

There’s not much you can find, but this charming country pub is a gem. It offers delightful beer and breathtaking views of the stunning mountains nearby. The service is friendly, and they have a great selection of local ales. The food looked amazing, though we didn’t dine there. I would highly recommend this place!

We had booked a meal this evening at the farmer’s arms, but unfortunately the chef was bad and they had not been able to cancel us and we were unconscious. the barman, tom, was really brilliant. he explained the situation and said he didn't want to disappoint us and offered to cook our meals for us instead of (as before worked as a cook) and we agreed. I have to say that eating was excellent. we are not familiar with the contrary, but I understand that this pub is under new management and if the friendly dedication of customer satisfaction tonight is everything to go past, the future looks bright for the farmer’s arms. many thanks for a pleasant meal and friendly service, especially tom.
