A Barca Tranquitanas - Portimão

Walking up to the restaurant we were greeted by a friendly waitress and promptly seated. We ordered the tuna steak, the jaquinzinhos (small fried fish), some plain rice, chips and a pepper salad. Apart from the chips, which were undercooked and covered in oil, the food was cooked properly, however it was not seasoned and lacked flavour. You could argue that it's best to cook things plain and let the customer season the food themselves with olive oil, salt, pepper, but I guess we just expected more because we eat amazing Portuguese cuisine on a regular basis. We felt like this restaurant probably caters more to tourists as we found it a bit pricey for what we got. Having said that the staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was nice. If you have special dietary requirements do make sure to ask the staff because you will find they add chorizo and similar products to seafood and fish dishes.

Traditional Portuguese fish restaurant, really good quality and really helpful staff. No children's menu but they do make smaller menu portions to suit

We ate there twice during our stay in Portugal. Very good variety of fresh fish and seafood. Good prices, convinient location and very friendly service

Sommes arrivés vers 21h00 cause travail, la serveuse nous accepte mais nous sommes les deux derniers clients car elle refuse tout les suivants. le service fût un peu long mais au final la dorade et les sardines étaient fameuses. Nous voulions deux factures distinctes pour des raisons professionnelles, ont nous alors répondu que se n'était pas possible.
