Cappo's Casual Dining - Portage

Excellent service and truly fantastic food at unbeatable prices! The diverse menu made it easy for our family of six to find something we all loved. Be sure to try the dessert; the skillet cookie is absolutely delicious!

The food is excellent and offered at great prices. The menu features a wide variety of options. Parking is available in the strip mall.

We waited for 20 minutes for a table. The hostess was preoccupied with cashing out customers, and although an employee came to ask about our party size and went to find us a table, they never returned to seat us. We ended up having to wait for the hostess to finish with a long line of paying customers before we were finally seated. The whole experience was very disorganized and hectic. They definitely need to implement a better system for busy times.

Emma is an awesome server! The Mediterranean pizza is most excellent! The mint chocolate brownies bite sundae is absolutely delicious!

We had an horrible dinner experience at Cappo’s tonight. We used to love the atmosphere and it has been a Portage staple for years, but the list of negatives was too long tonight: Was charged $10 add on for a piece of fishy, bony salmon on top of my alfredo. The chicken is only $2.99 add on, so I had to clarify if this $10 was correct and was told, “the manager thinks that’s right because we charge $13 for a salmon salad.” What?? So with that logic the chicken salads would only cost $6 but they don’t…?? Was told there are zero non alcoholic options from the bar. No mocktails, no NA beer. Not a deal breaker, just disappointing and out of touch. Low quality service. I sat through half of my meal without water and she forgot to take the drink order for my girlfriends when we arrived. I ordered a salmon salad to go for my husband. Got home and there were multiple dirty stems of the lettuce you typically cut off and throw away. His salmon was, too, fishy and bony. I ordered the salad to go prior to trying my own, or else I wouldn’t have even bothered. We likely won’t return. I did express my distaste to my server but was not met with good customer service, but more of a “it is what it is” attitude.
