Contribuiți la feedbackVisited for a birthday dinner yesterday. Lunchtime and they were already busy. Waitress was great and attentive, floating us updates when something longer was Taki than normal. Everyone loved their food. From appetizer to dessert. The fondue flowers served on the stone were absolutely great. It was brilliant that the two different cheeses served on the stones because it kept them hot until the end of when at the meal. So, instead of trying to try old cold cheese like you would normally need, we actually had to cool it on the pulp because there is still something on the bottom of the bowl hot bubbling! Two of us tried steak on the stones, and we both explained it some of the best steak we ever had. To control the cooking of each piece, it made fresh and juicy and perfect. The waitress gave great instructions to ensure that our steak was cooked on our different preferences. It was an experience we will remember and repeat. A member of our party said that the max-n-cheese burger was a favorite of her. She ate almost the whole thing (and it is rare she eats half her meal as a rule and portion size was also great! My husband really enjoyed the moons over my burger that the rabbit was baked mozzarella cheese. The pages were good. The sweet potato mash was so good I couldn't stop eating even though I was filled. (One who doesn't like sweet potatoes even said it was great. Friends were crispy, not greasy at all, one of them better fries many of us had. Chicken Tortilla soup was delicious. We had apple spits as a dessert with a special we have. I loved every bite. Since we were there to celebrate a birthday, we even got an unexpected free dessert that they call the volcano. It was a great stormy dessert from tasty brownie with an inverted waffle cone from vanilla to ice, covered with whip cream with caramel and chocolate, all 4 of us fed. The prices were for what you would expect for a good restaurant experience. Heck, the great food and service we received here was better than other places where we paid more!
I have eaten several times in this place and the last time was last Saturday. So far it's one of my favorite restaurants around Portage! The service is amazing and most foods are pretty good. Sometimes I get a supplement for my meal that is sometimes lobster bisque or the monster chili that are both really good and the steak is also really good. The experience of cooking the steak on the lava plate can be difficult, but it was not too bad and I also usually got the truffle friries that were really good. There were a few times where I would get the famous lava cake dessert that is delicious and really good. I hope I can eat here sometime! Overall, I would really recommend this place to someone who wants to eat somewhere in Portage!
Best sauce in town. Rock Sauce. I've been back and still top notch service. I'm sure I'm back. Try the crabcakes!!!!
If we could give 10 stars we would. We are visiting from Iowa due to my husbands military obligations. (They support military 10% off) We could never give a good enough review truly. What an awesome place to eat. The host was super busy but made sure to acknowledge us right away and was sooo polite. Our waiter (Michael) was one of the best we have ever had (we travel a lot military). Food was more then perfect. The restaurant was super clean as well. We plan to go back again in a couple days.
The wait staff was phenomenal throughout our entire meal experience. We loved every minute of it. And the food was amazing! Well be going back! Often! That is the Volcano, or complimentary birthday dessert. Deliciousness on steroids. They did what needed to be done.
