Vortex - Port Jefferson Station

I returned after a lengthy hiatus and was pleased to find that the restaurant is now under new ownership. The menu offers an incredible selection of all-you-can-eat options. In my opinion, they have the best quality sushi compared to other similar establishments. I will definitely recommend this place to others. One thing I hope is that they expand their kitchen menu in the future.

The staff was incredibly friendly. As someone who doesn’t usually eat sushi, I opted for the steak teriyaki, which turned out to be a bit bland. However, my companions were all very satisfied with their sushi dishes. I even tried a few flaming anal rollers (which were actually set on fire) and surprisingly enjoyed them, marking a first for me as I kept pushing myself to find something I liked. The desserts were excellent. I would definitely return to try other items from the menu.

Vortex has been under new management since the summer of 2016, and the improvement is remarkable. The sushi now tastes much fresher, featuring beautiful presentation and consistent quality. They've also introduced a new menu with unique options that set it apart from other AYCE sushi spots in the area. This was my second visit since the management change, and I will definitely return.

Chef Benny is the professional and service-oriented owner and chef. Very few and rare that they are both. Always a great food and tasting experience when I go there. Without failing, always after a delicious special prepared food.
