Contribuiți la feedbackI went there on someone's recommendation. I love Japanese food but this was disappointing. I had the Chicken Katsu Don. The chicken coating should be crispy but it was all soft and seemed under cooked. I couldn't finish the meal. The restaurant does have a sushi train which has very attractive fish tanks in the middle. Maybe the sushi was better, I don't know. Unusually for a Japanese restaurant all the staff, including the chefs, appeared to be european.
This is a small restaurant however the service is excellent and the food wonderful. A sushi train for those who just want to keep eating or alternately a menu to choose specific items from. You can eat in or take away.
Food tasted old, no cooking technique just tasted like defrosted out of a bag into a fryer then sit there for hours, didn't even see any Japanese working in there, we feel sick from eating it.
I took the grand daughters here and they loved it. The staff were very helpful. They even made a special dish for one of the grand children. They loved the idea of picking there own meal off the train.
My family stayed in Port Douglas for a few days and I think we stopped in at Port Izakaya at least once a day. It was quick and easy to pick up a few sushi rolls.
