Serious Coffee - Port Alberni

After exploring Cathedral Grove with my friends, we decided to head to Port Alberni to enjoy some hot drinks and warm up.

It seems that finding a good Americano is becoming increasingly difficult. We ordered some and found it to be bitter. Perhaps the choice of beans was not the best? An Americano should be strong and smooth. Unfortunately, the only option for vegetarians was a breakfast sandwich, which would have been fine earlier in the day but it was already past 3pm. The restaurant had been closed for some time due to smoke damage, but we didn't notice any improvements when we visited. I was hoping for better food and coffee this time. On the bright side, the restaurant does offer free wifi.

When you call your cafe "Serious Coffee" your coffee needs to be good. And we found that to be true in a couple of recent visits. Also offers a tempting display case of baked goods and a noticeboard of local events to peruse while they put your order tgether

Serious Coffee is a great spot to meet a friend for coffee, cappuccino, latte, or whatever your fancy. Add a delectable bakery item. Enjoy the ambience of the fireplace and artwork on display.

An ongoing ad appears in the Alberni Valley Times that live music is presented here one evening each week. This has not been the case for years, and despite bringing this to management's attention, they have not notified the newspaper so as not to be false advertising to customers. My cappuccino was satisfactory, enjoyed outdoors on the sidewalk fronting the parking lot.
