Contribuiți la feedbackThere are two options for lunch, almost always a chicken and a beef or sometimes pork, both excellent and tasty, and we have barely ever had the same dishes twice, although there were times ate. (We are both Yanquis; one of us lives here full of time, the other most of the year. I can't imagine how they come with so many different meals! Lunch is main dish, vegetables, small mixed salad, juice drink and a small desert, costs about $3,33 at the exchange rate of this letter. You can certainly buy cheaper lunch in the city, but they are almost always boring and repetitive. (Personally, I don't think they make Pasta all right for what it's worth. We tend to go somewhere else when it is used; fortunately, this is rare. The decor is elegant and tasteful (very unlike the lack of charm at these other cheap lunch shops. The staff is perfect and attentive. You can't go wrong by eating here. Dinner is more complicated, ordered from a menu instead of the two lunches. I think you could find her night menu on the Internet. The elections are so tempting that they are hard to choose. The person responsible for all this, from the meals in their magnificent variety, to the staff, responds to the decor to Betsy, although this is not really her name, nor speaks English. I think you'd be stupid not to eat here for your first meal, just in case you want to eat them all here. (Small note: The who you were here for and when you visited checkboxes are inadequate for us. We eat here about four or five times a week, although our own houses cook if we want.
We were completely surprised when we entered this restaurant and saw how beautiful it was decorated - a large dining area surrounded by smaller rooms for more private food. The feast meal was delicious and fresh, service very good and cheap.
This place is simply magical, worth the trip to Popayan on your own merits! The owner/Koch Betsy makes us feel like we are in a movie about a big cook, and the magnificent interior is actually the ground floor of her family home! Whenever in Popayan, this is the only place I eat, and every new day offers a bowl menu with savvy sauces, delicate frying, and inspired pages and salads. Is Carpe Diem the characteristic culinary experience of Popayan? I couldn't tell you because I don't eat anywhere else.
Carpe Diem is one of the most beautiful restaurants we have eaten in Colombia in our two months. The restaurant is filled with plants in a beautiful colonial house around a central courtyard. There are several restaurants around this courtyard. The whole house is tastefully decorated with historical artifacts. The local specialities are potatoes: either different variations on cooked potatoes (with different types of meat and cheese or shrimps or vegetables) or different combinations of rusty (fried potato). All this is more refined than it sounds. There are also no potato options if you prefer it. The service is fantastic very attentive and friendly. Prices are very reasonable: 12,000 to 17,000 per court. It is visited by a mixture of locals and tourists. I recommend this restaurant.
