I have been eating in Indian restaurants for over 40 years am spoilt as in my home town we have a very good one. After reading Tripadvisor reviews we decided on Quay Spice. My god ! This place is unbelievably bad ! I cannot even describe the food as curry. Both dishes we ordered, a dhansak a madras were putrid. After complaining to the manager I presume) he put a spoon into the sauce said, I quote, ‘oh yes I see what you mean ‘. It was absolutely full of salt, tasted nothing like anything I’ve had before. Even after agreeing with us, no apology was forthcoming, I asked for the bill, in actual fact I should have refused to pay but just wanted to get out. They made no effort to remedy the situation at all. My advice is please do not use this place it is terrible.
I chose this restaurant as I had seen a few good reviews but had never been. I went with my partner’s family and we had a wonderful meal! The staff were very kind and quick to take our order. I am vegan and found some wonderful vegan options. The food was very fresh and so tasty! We will definitely be back!
Stopped here on a Saturday evening in December. There was a few Christmas parties taking place there so was a nice lively atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and had great service. The food was very nice everything was very tasty and cooked well. The food arrived hot and portions were a very good size .
Very busy, even early evening on a Friday. Food was good quality, service was friendly. However we were pushed into a very cold drafty corner and the food took almost an hour to arrive. When we originally booked they should have told us that they may not cope and we could have booked elsewhere. Shame as I’m sure it would be great at other times.
We ate here after a recommendation from the bar man where we were staying. We walked in between 2 Christmas Parties so were aware that there could be a bit of a wait, but as they had managed to squeeze us in when already fully booked we were happy to. It was well worth the wait! Despite being full in the restaurant and I'm guessing with take aways the food was amazing. I had the Niligri Chicken Korma, the sauce was delicious and obviously freshly made. My husband had the Quay spice special, which along with tender chicken and lamb were also a couple of the biggest king prawns we had seen in a long while. I cannot fault anything about the evening except for some of the other guests who were less than gracious just because a couple of their drinks were missing.
