Le Prim'are - Ponzano romano

Live in the area, saw the reviews thought it worth a look. We arrived sat down took 20 mins to be served.antipasto just ok, pasta good,mains flavoured only with juniper. Had to go get the bill ourselves. Dingy room, bit chilly and dark. Really not sure what the amazing reviews are about we won't return..

A breve distanza dall'uscita autostradale di Roman Ponzano, si è rivelata un'ottima idea per un pranzo di lavoro durante il viaggio. La cucina classica romana, di qualità e con porzioni molto abbondanti. Abbiamo scelto due classici, treppiede e arachidi cacio e pepe, squisito. Il servizio è stato veloce e cortese, una fermata molto consigliata anche per i prezzi, 17,50 euro a testa per il primo e l'antipasto.

Well, we visited the premises on our way to the south of Italy, just for a short stop and a refreshment. What should I say very good (although a bit hidden) location overlooking an old abbey, which is also well worth visiting, I guess. The food was fabulous, the refreshing was very interesting, it was the local type of pizza, with vegetables, very good and a bit spicy. The pasta I took was local Lacio pasta with butter sauce also quite spicy. The pasta itself was aldente, but to the point when it is beginning to soften, an amazing experience, the main course was the tail of the bull in red sauce, also local food, this time not spicy at all, but incredibly tasty. For those eager for sweets this place have also a lot to offer, we took their Torta inglese (aka, English cake, which is, by the way, unknown in the UK) it was very good, something reminding their famous Tiramisu, but with a very faint taste of some herbs. Amazing. The service was hearty and elegant. If I happen to be in the area, I’d definitely come again.

After a long flight to Rome, this place is about an hour from the airport and the perfect place to stop for lunch if you're on the way to Tuscany. Everything on the menu is delicious.
