Le Relais Montois - Pontorson

We were originally turned away from this restaurant at 7pm as they were full but the waiter called us back in as we walked past later saying there had been a cancellation. We were seated on an older part of he restaurant which hadn’t been refurbished and looked like a storage room. There were lots of options on the menu. My husband had a €16 pizza, and we were told we could have a large for €22. It was very small (mini kid size pizza) for the price, although it was good. I chose a pasta dish which was like something I would make as a student and was disappointed, especially as it was €22. The kids had the obligatory chicken and chips which was an absolute rip off for the price. In terms of taste, and value for money, this was the worst meal out we had in 4 weeks in France.

Found this restaurant whilst staying in Pontorson. Made to feel very welcome and were looked after with great service from all the staff. Although it was busy we were found a table quickly without any fuss. Food was delicious and we were spoilt for choice. Same with the drinks with a great selection to choose from. Desserts were fabulous. Ended up going back 3 times over our fortnight’s holidays but this was easily the best and our favourite place to go in Pontorson. Thanks

I cannot say enough good things about our experience eating at le relais Montois. They were able to accommodate our large, international party of 10 the same day for dinner and our wonderful server Cristiano was Infinitely patient dealing with the chaos of our mostly anglophone party, including two children. He also recommended two delicious and affordable Italian wines that I will be dreaming of for years to come. But most of all, the food was fabulous. The ravioli with fresh black truffle is a world class dish, the two pizzas we had were great, the steaks were actually cooked to the requested temperatures (from bleu to bien cuit, and even the oft misunderstood American ´medium’ we’re each done to perfection. . The desserts were great. And the post meal digestifs were a lovely treat. The atmosphere is convivial and casual and we will definitely be back during our stay in the Mont Saint Michel area. A true find.

Clean and pleasant place, the staff is professional and very attentive. We ate very well It was open on December 25, we had the Christmas menu, we left delighted. Quality and price were present. Thank you for this good time Service: 5 Location: 5
