Mr. Corned Beef - Pontiac

If I could give zero stars, I would. I placed an online order on Monday, January 29, 2024, and paid with my card. The money was withdrawn from my account, but the restaurant at this location was not open. I visited the location several times, with my last visit around 1 PM, and still found no one there. I live out of town and was really hoping to bring home some corned beef. I called the Pontiac/Telegraph location today around 1 PM, but there was no answer. I also called the 7 Mile location, and the manager was not available, with instructions to call back after 3 PM. Again, I checked my account, and the money has already been deducted. I am requesting a refund to my card, and I will not be returning to any of their locations. If you choose to patronize this restaurant, I strongly recommend placing orders in person instead of online, as it is not reliable. I will also be notifying the Better Business Bureau.

I ordered online from the Pontiac location and specified how I wanted each sandwich made. It seems that reading instructions is not a priority for them, or they just don't care and make the sandwiches however they please. The staff was rude, and I won’t be spending any more money here.

I recommend going to Bronx Deli instead. It's just about three minutes south on Telegraph, on the left side. The owner often engages in conversation, but the overall 3-star rating on Google says it all.

The food was quite good. I ordered a large corned beef sandwich with well-done fries. However, the sandwich came in a small paper tray and was awkwardly stuffed into a plastic bag. I brought it to work for lunch, and it ended up being a bit of a mess—there were no plastic forks or utensils provided. It was nearly impossible to eat with the sandwich packed so tightly between the bag, and I had to peel off the paper that had stuck to the melted onions and the roll. Additionally, I requested well-done fries but received ones that were barely cooked. After spending almost $20 on a sandwich and fries, I would definitely recommend better takeout containers for more convenient dining.

I visited the restaurant for the first time yesterday, and I was impressed by the level of respect from the staff. The food was excellent, and they are generous with their portions of meat. I'll definitely be going back today for lunch!
