Haveli - Ponteland

Absolutely loved the experience. You can tell it’s real food and good for you. I felt uplifted after eating there and wanted to run home I had so much energy. I know it’s sounds odd, but I always eat real food and can tell if I’ve eaten real food or processed stuff. I’ll be back.

This is such a shame as we want our local India restaurant to be good but it’s overpriced and below standard for service. The restaurant itself is not traditionally Indian and more like a canteen environment. Unbelievably the staff are lovely but don’t seem to have any idea about customer service and stand around looking vacant, even when you have no drinks! The food isn’t actually bad, I’m not saying it’s great but it’s edible and not greasy, the issue is that I feel it’s expensive and doesn’t wow you. The best thing I can say about this place is that it’s the best Indian in Ponteland, although this isn’t a huge compliment as the competition is complete rubbish. I don’t think we will come back any time soon, we would prefer to pay extra for a taxi and go to Jashn in Swalwell, you can’t beat it.

The restaurant has changed owners and the current one would not be recognised by Michelin. The service is dreadful. Slow and no idea what to do. Very much just a standard Indian restaurant now with overpriced food. It is nowhere near what it was, disappointing.

Staff were friendly and welcoming but not overbearing. Couldnt fault the food, everything was delicious. Large restaurant, unusual decorated ceiling which was very attractive. Place was spotless.

Food was Fabulous , lovely place , great value for money, service is not of Michelin guide standard. One waiter was faultless , the other one needs improvement, let the whole experience down a little, needs attention to detail, Would definitely go back
