Casa Da Terra - Ponte de Lima

I came there hungry but the only had one dish that the nice waiter suggested that I will take it and they can make it vegan for me. It was 2 slices of toast (small) which they made for me with avocado instead of cheese and with fried vegetables thinly sliced. It was good but it's more appetizer than anything else. Inside a lot of meat on display even for me it was too much

I asked (in Portuguese) if they had a vegan burger, and the staff said that their veggie burger is vegetarian but not vegan, as the bun contains milk. They could offer no other vegan options apart from a plain salad, and they did not seem very friendly or very interested in serving us. Luckily, just around the corner at Maria Rosa by Cantinho Mini Meu we found much friendlier staff and some great vegan options, including pancakes, toasted sandwiches, and bagels with vegan cheese. They close at 7pm, though, so go early if you want dinner.

O hambúrguer é muito bom, assim como as batatas. Pedimos o hambúrguer sem molho pois o mesmo tem mel.

Despite the title, I enjoyed a delicious veggie burger. My partner rated his meat burger and the house rose and coffee was excellent. Great location by the beautiful river. Staff were helpful and friendly. They spoke English which helped as our Portuguese was very limited. The cafe supports the local prison with the aprons, furniture and decorations made by the inmates. A wonderful idea.

Amazing food, the boards are a great size, the medium one easily did 2 of us to share. We followed up by sharing a burger which was fantastic and then had a pudding each. Would also recommend the red wine served by the glass. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere and service both inside and out. 10/10 we loved it here.
