Marisqueira - Ponta Delgada

Really enjoyed this little restaurant especially the covered patio under the shade. We tried to go to two other restaurants close to 3 PM down the road and they didn’t let us in as the restaurants normally close at 3 in town. The limpets were the next I’ve tried in the Azores so far. Enjoy this place after a nice dip in the natural thermal waters nearby.

Only a couple of bars to choose from in the centre of town. We had coffee, wine and pastries and sat at a table outside. Order and pay at the counter, all very reasonably priced. They spoke some English. They do cook sandwiches to order but we only had pastries.

Great sandwiches and wonderful espresso. Their cafe americano was hot and full of the caffeine we needed for the day. The waitress was very attentive and gave great descriptions of the food choices. Priced reasonably and definitely a place to go for a quick snack, drink, or a relaxing moment. One last thing—it is a gathering place for the local Portuguese men—who are very expressive and engages in their conversations with each other. So it is a great place to listen to them speak and work on your Portuguese comprehension. Lol
