Hotel Sri Kamatchi truly justifies the tag of being one of the famous and iconic restaurants in Pondicherry. It has adapted the ambience and facilities to suit the modern world demands but has very well retained the authenticity and taste in their food preparation. The aroma of the spices, freshness of ingredients and the culinary skills of their cooks are worth a appreciating. <br/ <br/ We feasted on their <br/ <br/ Nattukozhi Biryani Flavourful spice rich biryani with country chicken leg piece. I suppose the definition of biryani is different in this part of India, but the preparation was tasty nevertheless <br/ <br/ Chicken Kamatchi This was one of the most recommended dish looking at all the reviews, but we found it decent. Nothing out of the world to be honest, especially when compared to other dishes we ordered<br/ <br/ Mutton dosai This was the winner of the day for me hands down! Simply loved the thick mutton gravy and the tender melt in the mouth mutton pieces. <br/ <br/ A must try every time I visit Pondi! So, if you want to taste the flavours of Puducherry don't miss out on Hotel Sri Kamatchi!

In pondicherry and have craving for non veg spicy food, then kamatchi is the place. Vegetarians don't visit. This is a quick meal restaurant. The food and service is super quick. Basic decor. Nothing to write about. Could be cleaner and more hygienic.

The assortments that come with thali and biryani give you a true taste if this region. Loved the concept of serving rice-rasam after biriyani, thali served with fish gravy. If you’re averse to food too spicy, you could ask for butter milk assortment instead of rasam.

Excellent non veg hotel. Briyani taste is really good. Crowded but worth the wait. Fish finger, kamatchi fish, chicken are good. Overall a must visit.
